Increasing Reliability of High Temperature Steam Super-Heater in Ammonia Production

On day three of the Argus Middele East Fertilizer 2019 conference we are going to present

“Increasing Reliability of High Temperature Steam Super-Heater in Ammonia Production”

Please join us on March 27th, 2019, at 10.10 o´clock to listen to the SCHMIDTSCHE SCHACK | ARVOS presentation.

Efficiency and reliability of an ammonia plant is predominantly defined by the performance of the process gas cooler and the steam super-heater.  The steam super-heater is of particular importance as the work horse in the heat recovery package.

The U-type steam super-heater, developed 15 years ago however is close to the mechanical threshold when high gas and steam temperatures are applied. SCHMIDTSCHE SCHACK has designed and manufactured a steam super-heater, which allows higher steam parameters up to 540°C / 130bar (1004°F / 1885 psi) as proven in a methanation process, but it can also be installed in ammonia.

At the conference we are going to show that this new steam super-heater provides the potential for improving the overall process efficiency and reliability.
